Summer is in full swing and aside from being outside, it can be tough to come up with new activity ideas. Whether you are trying to entertain your children, family, friends or colleagues, we have a few fun foodie ideas for you to try!
Forget wine tasting, gin tasting is the new cool kid on the block! Either pick your own and invite over some friends or use Waitrose’s cool new gin tasting service. They bring a gin expert, the gin and nibbles all to you so you can sit back, relax and try some new gins!
Although Bake Off isn’t currently on TV, it is always a fun activity to do with friends or family! Set a brief, get baking and throw a Bake Off party to test your bakes. Make sure the judge isn’t involved in the baking!
A classic American activity, why not throw a BBQ or summer party and ask each guest to bring their favourite dish to share as a buffet.
If you have a group of sushi lovers, get them over and get creative with some sushi. Set out bowls of all the different ingredients and let people go wild with making their own rolls. Some ingredient ideas: sushi rice, seaweed, sesame seeds, crispy onions, tuna, prawns, salmon, mango, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo and ginger.
If you really want to go wild with the food activities this summer, why not look for a local cooking retreat or workshop. There are plenty out there either to do as a couple, in a group or with your kids and they can be a great way to learn new skills and eat delicious food! You can find specialist ones for baking bread, making sushi, different cuisines and even different dietary requirements.
